Back to Hydrangea Cobblestones......And....A Giveaway ♡

Good Morning lovely lovelies♡ A beautiful welcome to my little place♡ Just sitting here enjoying a cup of tea, listening to the audio Book of Psalms narrated by David Suchet. Such a euphonious voice he has; nothing at all like the one he voices as Hercule Poirot. So, listening to him reading the Psalms while I watch Old Man Sun sleepily rise from behind the mountains is indeed bliss. What a miracle a sunrise is. Love, love, love sleepy Sunday mornings. It looks as if my day will be singing with sunshine. Love, love, love happy, sunshiny beams♡

The spring garden is beginning to unfurl in all its loveliness. The blossom trees are out in full bloom, though the falling blossoms are now beginning to catch a ride on the soft spring breeze, forming petal-filled carpets on the ground. For the past couple of weeks the bluebells have been the stars in the garden, so of course I had to, had to pick a gazillion of them before they are no more. I must say too, that there are carpets of forget-me-nots everywhere; so, so pretty. Very soon it will be the irises and granny bonnets....oh, and the foxgloves....time to shine. The bluebells will be the stars of my little happy snaps, this week.....along with my happy, hydrangea cobblestones, of course♡

Having finished the sweet baby quilt last week, for which I must say thank you for the gift of all your beautiful comments; I have pulled out my Hydrangea Cobblestones quilt out again to hand stitch. Such happy fabrics. Blue, blue, hydrangeas everywhere. Can one ever have too much of the hue blue?? Me thinks most definitely not! Lots of octagons and little squares have been stitched on, skipping around the outside. Two more 'rounds' have been added. Such fun! Though, upon my beady little eye perusing the progress, that persnickety eye of mine went to a spot like an arrow to the bullseye, and spotted something scew-whiff. Nothing major, just one little octagon not quite in the right spot. I suppose I should've let it be; most would; but me being me, a recovering perfectionist, I had to fix it up as I just know it would have niggled me forever. So I carefully  unpicked the offending octagon and replaced it with another that was more pleasing to my eye. Gosh, it took a little while, as I do tend to stitch tiny little stitches very, very close together when doing EPP.   But now, all is well with my little octagonal world. My hydrangea cobblestones quilt is slowly growing.

A basket of bluebells for you♡

Now.......about my little Giveaway. I'm still sorting (slowly) and culling stuff and happened upon another Christmas stocking, in the form of an 'oh-so-chic, Parisian boot, which I fashioned many years ago. I gifted a couple of these pretties last year to some lovely ladies, so, as Christmas, the season of goodwill will soon be at our doorsteps, a thought crossed my mind; why not gift another stocking to one of you lovely lovelies. I am wanting to spread a little early Christmas joy. My Parisian boot has been hanging in the dark abyss of an armoire (I had made it, along with some others to sell); much better to be out seeing the light of day, adorning another's home.  So, if you hanker after a Christmas Parisian boot dripping in lacey and vintage, cream and gold frothiness to gussy up your home, just say so when you comment, and I will put your name in a hat  and my husband might just well draw out your name. Fingers crossed♡

Bye for now. May your day be filled with touches of beauty; and may you enjoy sprinkles of joy throughout this coming week♡ Thank you for skipping along my flower-lined, hydrangea cobblestone path with me. Every path should have bluebells and forget-me-nots kissing the edges. Later on this evening I will continue stitching some more pretty cobblestones to my quilt and also visit Kathy to see what all the other lovely ladies are hand stitching. Then tomorrow I might visit Judy's place to see what pretties are on everyone's design walls.

Until the next time.............

  4. Everything is so very pretty & blue here today Kim. Such a gorgeous shade of blue too. Do the bluebells last long in a vase? I did not pick mine - they are fading now. I also have pale mauve ones ... are these called mauvebells I wonder?
Your Parisianne boot is beautiful - I wish all the ladies the best of luck in your Giveaway. As I was lucky enough to receive one of these myself last year I will not enter but will let others have a chance to win a piece of your stunning handwork. Have a wonderful week dear Kim. xx

  9. Your quilt is coming along beautifully and what a shame that you had to unpick the rogue hexagon it seems to take forever to correct something that isn't quite right and I bet only you could notice it but if it doesn't please than it has to go. The bluebells are so pretty it will be a while before we see them again. Enjoy your Sunday dear Kim. xx

  11. I too could listen to David suchet all day, he writes a diary and includes little drawings on each page which are charming! Your blue quilt is lovely but if one doesn't sit right it would have irritated you forever so worth replacing. Your boot has such a lot of work in it and I would give it a good home! 😁

  13. I am continuously amazed by your prolific and beautiful hand sewing. I love that latest "blue" quilt. No need to put my name in the hat for the stocking. It is beautiful, but I have more stockings than I need. Those bluebells are gorgeous by the way. I don't think I have ever seen that pretty flower in person.

Wonderful idea with the lottery, Kim! It would be interesting to know who's the lucky one and where that Parisian boot will travel.

  20. Oh my goodness, what spring beauty! The bluebells are gorgeous, and I know the irises will be too. I'm hoping to get irises transplanted into my new garden before old man winter shows up here. They were originally taken from a friend's grandmother's garden to mine, then to my daughter's garden, and now they will make their way back to me. :)
I love the French boot and do remember your generosity last year. Please do add my name to the pot. We are all lucky just for the opportunity to grace our home with your handwork!

  22. Your blue quilt is looking stunning Kim I know what you mean by the small stitches, it is hard to unpick. We have iris comj g out here too, the dark purple one is out and looking glorious, the white one is soon to burst open, they must have appreciated the rain this year. Have a wonderful week.

  27. Your bluebells are stunning. I was given a clump many years ago and told to be careful where I planted them as they spread! Sadly my clump is no bigger now than it was 20 odd years ago, it must be the wrong soil. Anyway, so lovely to see yours. Your cobblestone hydrangeas are just gorgeous and of course I would love to be entered into the draw for your stunning boot please. xx

  28. Kim.
My bluebell creek has just finished and the iris re coming in the tulips look stunning and I really love them.the wisteria is flowering but not as well as we would like,my husband has found out what he was doing wrong in the cutting back so next year should look much better.the two banksia roses either side are doing fantastic though, even though the rain of the last week has knocked the about a bit.the lilac stuck its nose up between the blossoms of the apple tree very spindly there.I have taken cuttings is the hopes of planting elsewhere and more flowers next year.I picked a bunch of forget-me-nots and buttercups the other day, they looked stunning in the vase and lasted really well much better than the bluebells.I have been sending my friends virtual bunches of flowers as we are still in lockdown here till the end of the week.today we received good news we will be able to join our grandchildren in Queensland for Christmas after all.we did not think she would open in time..sorry you can’t see your daughter for Christmas.
Your stocking is beautiful and I would love to win thankyou for giving us the chance.

  29. Kim I give up I have commented twice and it seems to have deleted them for some reason so for the third time I will only say I love your quilt .I picked a bunch of forget me knots the other day and buttercups they remind me of your quilt they looked stunning in the vase and lasted really well.
I would love to win your stocking and thankyou for giving us the chance Elizabeth

    1. Elizabeth, sorry about the hiccups; Blogger does that sometimes. I know not why? =) But thank you for your persistence. Your garden sounds divine! Your spring season is well ahead of ours down here. The bluebells are now on the way out, but the procession of the other spring flowers are taking place one after the other. Isn't spring glorious??!! I can just imagine how beautiful the buttercups and bluebells looked displayed in the vase together. Blue and yellow are the bestest of friends. =) Our wisteria is just beginning to bud. I hope it flowers profusely as I want it to be the backdrop of my flower garden quilt, for a couple of hundred happy snaps (haha). Our wisteria is a temperamental tree/climber. Some years it flowers like there is no tomorrow, and other years, it just doesn't come to the party at all. Fingers crossed it stars in the garden this year. At the end of spring last year, I 'told' my husband under no circumstances was he and his chainsaw to go anywhere near it. =) My fingers and everything else are crossed that all will be well. Fabulous you are able to go to Qld for Christmas. My husband and I will hopefully go in the new year. As for my daughter in San Fransisco; goodness only knows when I will ever hug her again! So miss my girls! As for the Parisian boot, I will enter your name and who knows, perhaps it will be hanging somewhere in your beautiful home this Christmas. Thank you so much for stopping by my little spring place, lovely Elizabeth. So, so happy you did. Kim Xx

  31. Good morning, dear Kim! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA lately. We took a little trip then we kept our little Jack while his parents took a trip, believe it or not, I needed a bit of rest after all that!

Your baby quilt turned out beautifully and I know will be well appreciated! Isn’t it both nice and a bit sad when one finishes a fun project? There is a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for its use but also an almost longing to continue working on it. I guess that’s why we keep several projects going at once.?? Ha! Your hydrangea quilt top is quite the remedy to that feeling. And the time away helped you noticed the wonky octagon. Much better you found it now than when it was done or almost completed!

Wishing you a wonderful week. Enjoy those lovely spring colors, our leaves are just starting to turn now. It’s later than usual, maybe because of too much rain this year or maybe it’s climate change. I’m not complaining as the green beans are still producing! Ha! 😉

  32. I love this abundance of blue, Kim! Another wonderful make. I saw David Suchet in a play in London a few years back. He was very different from his Poirot persona (he is the BEST Poirot IMO) both in appearance and in voice.

I have to admit to being purposefully late in adding my comment to this post because I didn't want my name in the hat to possibly win that gorgeous boot. I already have one of your treasures and, much as I loved this one too, I wanted to leave it for someone else to love. And I know it will be loved, there's no doubt about that!
