Oh Spring......How Beautiful You Are!!

A lovely welcome to my little placeIt is a place where spring is gushing with loveliness everywhere. It is a place where blossom after blossom delights the eyes.

It is a place where the dutch irises are starring in the garden. They have popped up everywhere. These silky, orchid-like flowers are truly the easiest of plants to grow. After planting the bulbs you can forget about them and they will gift the garden with flowers year after year; after year. 'Tis truly a vision splendid.

Remember my little slipper chair?? How pretty it looks nestled among the irises. =)

It is a place where sweet flower hexies (or perhaps I should say, hexdens) have been growing too; albeit ever so slowly. These pretties once again bedecking oodles of blossoms; this time the wisteria.

It is Sunday evening here at my little spring place. I see in my crystal ball a little hexie stitching as I watch TV. Thus far I have fashioned forty little flower hexdens, then stitched them onto the squares.....about eighty to go I should think. Just as well I love  EPP. =)

Thank you for gifting me with your sweet visit. May each one of you lovelies enjoy a week filled with beauty Until the next time...............

  1. Those hexies are adorable - rounded ends! Spring came and went for us in Sydney so your beautiful blooms are a sight for dry eyes. Not as dry as our country cousins who somehow are holding on under the most difficult of drought conditions.

  13. Your garden and flowers are gorgeous. I always love seeing your pictures. We are just beginning to cool down for winter, although it has been in the 80's in the afternoons, but right now at 8:30 in the morning it is 44, actually chilly out there.

  14. Little by little I am beginning to understand the hexie thing. The part that confused me was sewing them together but I think I understand, now. YOU are a flower fairy! I think it's brilliant to take pretty furniture outdoors for spring photo shoots! Guess what? It's snowing here today. No spring for us! LOL. Sending lots of love your way, sweet Kim.

  27. Your garden is blooming as well as your quilt pattern, Kim! You are surrounded by Spring blossoms both inside and outside. I noticed that you have rounded the outside edges on your hexies. How I wish I could make one of these gorgeous quilts. Maybe it's the cutting of all the pieces that stops me??!! I look forward to seeing your hexie patches grow and grow! Happy Spring to you!

  28. How delightful. Irises are my favorite flower but they don't last nearly long enough. You have extended their life, however, by putting them on your lovely chair. The growing hexden collection is charming. We are enjoying a last bit of warmth these next two days, but the cold is on it's way.

  29. Oh, what beauty from the other side of the world! The iris's are just gorgeous and your chair is stunning with them. All the beauty, even the cows (are they yours?) shows perfectly how Spring is bursting out all over. I have taken some fading garden Fall pictures to make a picture collage but I am so NOT tech savvy that I could not make it work. I have taken your request to heart to share a little of my place so I will have to send them via email...

Hence the need for me to capture all the gloriousness in each happy snap. =) As for "transferring all that beauty onto cloth".....I suppose it is easy to do when one's fabric stash is overflowing with gorgeous flowery fabric. Thank you for your sweet visit, Mary. Kim Xx

  54. Hi Kim, what a magical post! Wouldn't it be amazing to travel around the word, following spring? I guess that you would have to have either summer or winter in between, but how glorious would that be?
You must have so much fun with you photo shoots! Thanks so much for sharing these. Your EPPs are so beautiful. I would never have thought to place them on flowered background fabrics. I'm sure that they will be beautiful!

I love your hexie flowers. The fussy cutting is done beautifully. They look so pretty hanging on the line and waving in the spring breeze.

I’ll just pop back here when I need a spring boost over the next few months.
