Lenox's zoo, that isπ¨π¦π΄π°π¦π¦
Hello lovely lovelies, lovely friends♡ A lovely welcome to you this Sunday evening♡ Well, it is here. =)
My woolly experiment is DONE!! An experiment?? Yes, this woolly blanket was definitely an experiment. Having never read, nor indeed understood a crochet pattern before it wasn't a certainty that this woolly crochet undertaking would be a triumph. Nor was it a given that there would be an acceptable outcome. This crochet woolly was definitely a trial and error pretty and I must say, a giant learning curve.
Well, I'm here to say after many mistakes and missteps I'm doing a victory lap (around the garden......around the autumnal hydrangeas). =) All the critters in Lenox's zoo are resting happily atop the woolly blanket and ALL are happily playing together with all their friends. Each critter whispered to me which pal they wanted to be their play buddy and rest next to forevermore. One would be forgiven if one supposed that all the critters might be a little askance of Lenny Lion or perhaps to a lesser extent Faelynn Fox being a hop, skip and a jump away, but nope, in the land of make believe, all these critters are the very best of friends, boisterously rollicking and frolicking and getting up to all manner of hijinks all day long. They are a happy little zoo.
Meet Harvey Horse and Wilbur Worm. I must say Harvey is a handsome fellow and just between you and me, he's my favourite.

Oh Kim, what a delight this woolly zoo blanket is, all those gorgeous little faces peeping out. Lennox and his parents are going to love this. You did a wonderful job, persevering when things got difficult, and you finished it, just in time for your family visit. Don't be surprised if you have started a family tradition, you may well have requests from other grandies over time wanting their very own zoo blankie!

What a fun gift you have made for Lenox! All of the animals are delightful but I must say I am partial to the dog with the floppy ears….reminds me of Finn, our grand-dog. I hope you enjoy your holiday with Lenox and his family. Well done on his blanket! Gail at the cozy quilter

ReplyDeleteA triumph Kim! Just gorgeous. Enjoy your holiday - and lots of Lennox cuddles. xx
ReplyDeleteLexox if a very special boy to have a grandma like you. And what a cherished blanket/afghan he will have. Such an amazing feat to finish! The animals are each cuter than the next and I do love the horse as well. Your hydrangeas are so beautiful still. A huge difference to our blizzard outside today. North of us in Wisconsin got 31 inches of snow.
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job with this blanket, that had to take a lot of patience, the horse is pretty cool, I still love the sheep too. I hope you have a wonderful visit with them all and a very safe trip!
ReplyDeleteKim, you always come up with such delightfully unique gifts for your grands. Lenox will love his personal zoo. I loved the photos of the quilt amongst the blue hydrangeas. Enjoy you visit with Lenox and his parents. We are still anxiously awaiting spring, which seems reluctant to make an appearance here.

Your blanket is just gorgeous Kim. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful visit today.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that blanket. Wonderful, Kim.
Lenox is one blessed little boy! I'm sure that blanket is going to be treasured and loved to pieces.
ReplyDeleteHow could Lenox possibly NOT love his blanket? I love it, too. Story...my grandmother on Dad's side was a master crocheter. But...she could NOT read a pattern. Most times she'd have her sister make one using the pattern and then she'd look at it and go from there. So I have no amount of faith in you and your crocheting; you are the best!
