Hello lovely lovelies♡ A lovely welcome to my little place, where December has joyfully wafted in on a hot, summery breeze♡ I am beside myself with great joy♡ How positively exciting♡ December, the month of summer, Christmas, and blue, blue hydrangeas♡ This summery gal is dancing on her tippy toes♡
I did a lot of thinking this week. I thought about my hydrangea flowers skipping around the blue cobblestones.....nothing. I thought about a little Christmas tree decorating.....nothing. Oh, I unearthed all the glittery adornments for said tree, but alas, they sit where I left them....waiting....waiting. I thought about knitting my woolly jacket.....nothing. Well, I tell a porky pie, just a little one, as I did partake in a little knitting; BUT.......as I looked at my woolly on close inspection, I noticed an aberration. A cable way, way down had decided to go off in another direction. Damn! So, I unravelled way, way down to the disobedient cable, put all the woolly stitches back onto my needles.....and then, nothing.
But, I did spend a lot of time dancing in the garden this week♡ No....not weeding, or indeed any 'hard labour' kinda garden work, but communing with the flowers and trees, and picking rose after beautiful rose, to immortalise said roses in photos forevermore. =)
Yesterday, I began playing with needlepoints, fabric and pretty bits and bobs, for I am in need of a new bag. Yes indeedy, the placing of a doily here, some flowers there, and a little ruched ribbon skipping around a pretty needlepoint of a girl, was enjoyed. Any excuse to play and pet my pretties. Later on this evening, with all the other lovely ladies over at Kathy's place, I will joyfully.....yes.....even joyously hand stitch all the fripperies to my little bag♡

What stunning roses and lovely needlepoint canvases...We awakened to 27 degrees (F) this morning with a light coating of frst that made the grasses, weeds and trees shimmer in the early rising sun...our skies have become milky and opalescent this afternoon and our temps have risen to a tolerable 43.2 degrees...

ReplyDeleteKim, it's so odd to read your writing about how warm and full of blooming flowers your December is! Our climate is so completely opposite. Christmas time here is a cold and sometimes snowy time that requires warm sweaters, cozy blankets and hot chocolate. What a beautiful blessing to celebrate this season with warm temperatures and beautiful flowers! Enjoy your stitching time and be sure you share pictures of your new purse. Such gorgeous roses, I imagine the heavenly scent is wafting around your lovely home. I understand growing roses takes a lot of work, but the results are no doubt well worth it. Mmm, wonder what your bag will look like once you have auditioned all the possibilities?
ReplyDeleteThose roses are beautiful I can almost smell them from here, sometimes you just don't feel like doing anything, nothing calls to you but that's ok because sometimes we just have to breathe and smell the roses and soon enough our enthusiasm returns. Your Sunday sounds delightful, we are faced with high winds and heavy rainfalls but it will pass. Enjoy your day. xx

I need to get out in the garden and take care of some cleanup and trimming, but like you nothing! I think your mood wore off on me! My tree is only decorated because my daughter and granddaughter did it! I love your bits and pieces, and I want to rummage through yours. You would probably love my stash too, scattered throughout 2 rooms! Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteAnother new bag...oh, the beginnings are brilliant; I know it'll be lovely. Sometimes I have that 'nothing' happen to me, too. I can always think of a million things I can/should do but I just can't so 'nothing' happens. Besides that lovely bag, just look at those photos!! Stunning photos and each one a beauty in itself. Your roses are spectacular! Are roses usually a spring flower there in Tassie? I think of summer when it comes to roses. December came waltzing in around here. We've had such warm temps that my shorts don't look too out-of-place and t-shirts are definitely 'in'. Poo-hoo to putting blue and green together. Whoever came up with that ditty sure didn't think about nature nor did she meet a certain Kim who does blue and green perfectly. :) As my aunt always says...Keep on dancing...
