A lovely welcome to you! My little world of late has been filled with flowers, flowers and then some. There are flowers blooming everywhere in the garden; Tulips, Irises, Granny Bonnets, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Lilacs, Foxgloves and so on and so on. There are more flowers blooming on my quilt as well, but more about that later on.
Spring down here is constantly delighting with the most amazing colours and fragrances. Truly, the garden never fails to delight and surprise. Each morning as I walk around the garden it seems new magic awaits me. At the moment the Irises are showing off. They truly are gorgeous.
It won't be long till the Lilacs and Wisteria take centre stage. Oodles of preserving jars are filled with blooms ready to be scattered throughout my home and what better way to take happy snaps of these pretties than to showcase them with the backdrop of the pond. =)
The Tulips at the Tulip Farm I visited a couple of weeks ago were a vision splendid. Hectare after hectare of rainbow-filled gorgeousness. I tippy toed (well at least in my imagination, I did) up and down, row after row of floralicious delight. Indeed they were a delight to all the senses. Can you imagine a meadow (or as us Aussies say a "paddock" over-spilling with these splendid flowers?? I can! I will have to speak to my gardener to see what those miraculous green fingers of his can do!! =))
Flowers of the fabric kind have been growing on my quilt as well. Hydrangeas, Daisies, Tulips, Poppies and sweet little blossoms kissing the water's edge have as if overnight, magically begun to blossom. Did I say "overnight"?? Believe you me it has been hours and hours and many more hours of me coaxing fabric into petals and then into flowers. There doesn't seem to be much progress does there?? I do believe this flower quilt is going to take season after season to blossom in all it's beauty! At least the bottom corner of my flower garden is finished! All the finer details of each flower and leaf will be embroidered or quilted later on.
Each flower not thinking of competing with the flower next to it. Each flower blooms......and beautifully so. Though, in saying this me thinks the Iris might think it's the star!
Thank you so much for visiting my little place. Indeed each and everyone of you makes me want to dance on my tippy toes through my garden! Why, I think I just might! =) So, so sorry for a gazillion happy snaps of all the pretty flowers, but somehow I didn't think you would mind.....at least, I hope you don't.
I am off to enjoy a little slow Sunday stitching this sunny Sunday afternoon.......by the pond, me thinks. Have a most beautiful day♥
Until the next time......

Your applique is coming along gorgeously ( is that a word?) :) It is as beautiful as the lovely flowers in your garden - and your pond is the icing on the cake. We have a large tulip farm here too - although now is not the season here. But I do love to visit there in the Spring. Thank you so much Kim, for you very kind comments on my blog - I am happy you like what I have done with my small furniture pieces...I would love to load one of them into your van...haha...hope all is well ♥
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful it all is Kim!! What I wouldn't give to sit by that gorgeous pond of yours & share a cuppa. Everything looks magnificent. It is such a pretty time of year .. my favourite. Your quilt is looking rather gorgeous too ... it doesn't matter if it takes a very long time to grow, just makes it all the more special. Have a lovely week my friend Xx
ReplyDeleteHow lucky we are to have such an array of colours from Mother Nature! I bet you were in heaven going through all those flowers. It looks so peaceful there. Thanks for sharing with us. x
ReplyDeleteIt seems so wonderful to walk trough your little paradise Kim, all these beautiful flowers bursting with color and energy.

Your garden is stunning - how could I ever tire of seeing pictures of it! And such a beautiful time of the year for you, we are well into autumn and have a completely different colour palette so it is lovely to see your bright fresh greens. I could never live anywhere without seasons as I love the change of each one. The tulip fields are stunning - my parents have been to see the tulip fields in Holland but I have only ever seen photographs. Your quilt is looking wonderful - such a lot of work in applique so it is never going to be a quick project but I shall so enjoy following your progress. Have a great week. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim. A delight to see since our last few days here in New York have been rain with cold 30° temperatures! ;-*
ReplyDeleteHello lovely Margie, I do believe New York in any weather would be amazing! Loved, loved, LOVED New York when I visited. Though in saying this 30 degrees would be a wee bit chilly for me. I am loving our Spring weather and all the pretty flowers. Thank you for visiting my flower garden, lovely Margie. Have a beautiful week....and try to keep warm. Kim Xx
DeleteWhat a beautiful spot to sit and stitch ... inspiring for your applique too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gardens and that Tulip farm - oh my..... love how your quilt is cpoming along.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is the perfect backdrop for this quilt. The flowers all go together so well. Enjoy your beautiful day. I certainly am one that enjoyed all the flowers you have shown, natural and quilted.
ReplyDeleteHaving just put my garden to bed here in the No hemisphere, yours is a feast for my eyes - so beautiful! I love irises, and spent time dividing mine this past spring in hopes of spreading the beauty next spring.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is a vision of patience and sheer beauty.
I met you and your blog through Jann Olson, and look forward to delighting myself with visits here, especially as we go deeper into the winter months. Thank you the inspiration!
Wow -- what beautiful blooms! Your quilt is absolutely lovely; I loved your setting for it, too! Enjoy your slow stitching!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour garden blossoms are a feast for the eyes, Kim, and the blooms on your quilt are coming along beautifully, too! The photos of the tulip farm are amazing!! I can’t imagine being able to walk amongst all of that color!! I thought about you as I wrote my Fall post yesterday and wondered about your colorful world. You are quite the lucky lady to stitch in such an awesome setting today. Have a wonderful week, dear friend! Zenda
ReplyDeleteWow...before I forget to ask, what are the pink flowers in the third picture? I just love them! Your garden is so lovely and packed full of wonderfulness. Do you have a place along the pond where you can sit and watch the fish. We do that a lot by my pond. Terry is watching fish and I am trying hard to spot my frogs and on the look out for snakes.
ReplyDeleteYour appliqued flowers are perfection. You have a lot of inspiration for it in your garden.
xx, Carol
I enjoyed this walk on my tippie toes through your blog post. It was a floralicious delight indeed! As our trees turn various shades of colors heading to brown and bare, it is a great treat to see that elsewhere in the world, people are getting to enjoy spring. Thanks for letting me enjoy it with you! Your quilt is incredible! It really captures the garden photos you have shown.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gardens and stunning quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm dropping in from Kathy Quilts Slow Stitching Sunday. What a delight to see your flowers and the tulip fields. And how nice that you have so many you can pick them and bring them inside. We are wallowing in the gloom, cold, and rain here in western NY, where even our usually glorious autumn colors are non-existent this (crazy weather) year. I love your applique project, though it is beyond my skill level.
ReplyDeletePat
i am a little jealous, but our time will come. we have a different palette right now our porch is filled with pumpkins and mums and scattered colorful leaves from yesterday's storm. your garden is beautiful, well planned, well planted so that there is always something in bloom!!
ReplyDeleteeach flower not thinking of competing with the flower next to it...i love that, i wish humans were the same. the quilt is coming along beautifully!!
Breathtaking....love all the flowers. We are in fall here although it seems short lived. We even had snow last weekend-didn't cover the ground. Today we have high wind gusts making tree branches fall and rain. I've been busy putting the flower and veggie gardens to bed, pulling up annuals, etc. It's such a sad time to go from an abundance of colorful flowers to leafless plants and exposed garden soil. Next will be snow and freezing cold temps. I love the look of fresh fallen snow if I could just keep it off the roads, driveway and sidewalks because I dislike shoveling it. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy your chilly little world at all, though the sight of snow in a winter wonderland sounds rather lovely......until it all melts and becomes soggy and slushy. =) The thing I miss most in Winter is the flowers and the warmth in the sunshine. Everything here dies down and goes to sleep. You have had snow already?? I suppose it is a sign of the weather that must come. Have a lovely week. Kim Xx
DeleteYour little word is heavenly...Such beauty...Here is Spring too,but we have lots of rain and wind...Cloudy days...Your post, like Jann Olson usually says,"fills my cup" with your great artwork and adorable flowers.Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy my little place fills your pretty patterned, porcelain tea cup. =) It is a delight to have you visit my little piece of heaven. Kim Xx
DeleteThank you for showing all these beautiful photos! It looks so amazing walking around in your garden and at the tulip farm. Also your flower quilt looks gorgeous. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Birthe. The garden is a lovely place in which to stroll.....or indeed, to dance tippy toe amongst the pretty flowers. =) Thank you for your sweet visit. Kim Xx
DeleteSo many gorgeous flowers!
ReplyDeleteI really don't have words to express how much I love your beautiful gardens and quilt. I looked over the comments your friends have made and saw "floralicious delight, breathtaking, incredible, a vision of patience and sheer beauty..." So I guess I will just have to ditto and ditto again. "Vision of patience and sheer beauty" says it best I think! Did anyone say, Wow? :~)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post, a pleasure to scroll thru' your pretty pics and imagine I'm there too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful garden and stunning display of tulips. No wonder your quilts are so beautiful surrounded as you are by such beauty.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful flowers. Both living and floral. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Kim - it's like a little paradise! Your quilt is just so wonderful. Happy quilting - such a joy to see it coming together and to walk with you among the flowers! Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. Yes the garden is like a little paradise. It daily fills me with wondrous delight! Kim Xx
DeleteYour garden is stunning. A gardener who can do that should definitely be able to work some tulip magic too. :-) Your applique is growing beautifully too, and no surprise, with real life for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSo many flowers! I'm enjoying the colors of fall, here, but your spring is so bright and cheery!!
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow!!! Those flowers are amazing. It's a little taste of heaven, isn't it? Your appliqué is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeletewell I would say you are "down under" it is fall here and soon will be winter and I will have to enjoy all the flowers on see on line from all of you in far away places! I just cut the last of my roses to enjoy in the house
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are just stunning. As we go into fall here, the lovely spring blooms are such a sight for the eye. The iris have always been one of my favorite flowers and seeing them in such a natural looking setting is beautiful. Your hand stitched flowers are growing so nicely too. I'm sure it is hours and hours of stitching, but it is going to be a glorious bloom when finished.
ReplyDeleteAll that beauty. What a sight to behold!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a teriffic way to spend the afternoon...stitching away in a heavenly garden.
Your quilt truly looks amazing, Kim!
Sitting in my swing seat gazing upon the flowers and pond on a sunny Sunday afternoon, stitching my applique pretty is a lovely way to while away the time, Dixie.....pure bliss actually. Kim Xx
DeleteStunning garden and stunning quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous garden and your quilt flowers look so real!
ReplyDeleteOM goodness. Glorious! Love all the pictures - the flowers are out-of-this world, Kim. With all those bouquets ready for the house, I know your home is nearly as fragrant as outside. I've seen pictures of the tulips in Holland but the ones in Tasmania are just as gorgeous. I do wonder how in the world they PLANT all those bulbs and how do they keep them going and going. I love my tulips but it seems I need to replant bulbs every once in a while. You are doing an amazing job with the 'quilt flowers'. You will do the quilt justice.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful colors! I love the irises in the bottles. My spring is behind yours but is looking very promising!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I did not mind at all seeing all your lovely flowers, you are blessed with a lovely garden and I would have to get out there everyday myself to enjoy all the beauty. How wonderful to be able to bring so much of it inside to enjoy as well!! When we lived in England we saw a tulip farm, it is a beautiful sight as well and looks like you enjoyed it with your family :) I will have to say your quilt is coming along just beautifully, you must be so thrilled with it so far, it is sure going to be a huge labor of Love and just think of the generations to come that will be able to enjoy it as well, beautiful flowers that won't die :) Enjoy this beautiful time of year!
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to see Spring springing in your part of the world! My favourite season and it cheers me no end to see all your blooms. And your applique flowers are also blooming beautifully. Very cheering for us poor northerners in the cold and rain :)
ReplyDeleteYour Springtime loveliness must be a joy to see, smell and touch, Kim. I would be merrily tip toeing through the rows and rows of beautiful tulips with you, if I could be there. Your quilt is looking ever so lovely with each and every hand sewn petal, and stem. It is truly a work of art, which when finished, should be hanging in an art museum!! Your are so gifted and talented, and how wonderful that you use those gifts from Our Lord, to create such masterpieces.
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us all these flowers. I slow down when I'm reading your blog and to at the beautiful detail. No wonder you were inspired to make your flower quilt! It's ok if it takes a while to finish. It is a work of art!
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed all your beautiful pictures! What inspiration for your quilt, which is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful irises and the tulips are gorgeous! With that kind of inspiration around you, no wonder your fabric flower garden is blooming as well. Enjoy the slow stitching!
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for linking up on Wandering Camera!

Kim, your handiwork comes to life with such beauty and grace. And what a treat to see your flowers blooming as our leaves turn colors of yellow and red.
ReplyDeleteWhat very lovely flowers Kim, Irises have never been one of my favourites but yours in the garden and indeed on the future quilt are just perfect. what beauty surrounds you and greets you with the morning light.
ReplyDeleteOh...could I come romp through the flowers along with you...or we could just tip-toe through the tulips and pretend we are Tiny Tim! How gorgeous your garden is and oh my...those acres of tulips are a sight to behold! Your beautiful garden quilt is already a work of art. I don't even know if my heart can handle the finished product!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I never mind seeing the flowers, whether they be those out in the garden or the ones on your quilt. I simply can't imagine seeing all those tulips all in bloom at the same time either - such an incredible sight! And it astounds me that you can pick all those flowers to put in the house and still have any left in the garden to admire!!
ReplyDeleteWOW, Kim!!!!!!!!! Beautiful flower photos and A GORGEOUS quilt!!!!!!!! Happy November, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mia. November....how did we get here so soon. =) Kim Xx
DeleteDear Sweet Kim, you have created a heaven on earth in your garden . . . it is just breath-taking. Now you're using it to inspire this amazing quilt. Your talent is an incredible blessing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post . . . thanks for allowing me to tip-toe through the tulips with you, LOL.
Connie :)
Beautiful flowers, in real, and in stitches!
ReplyDeleteOh such gorgeousness! Both your real Spring garden and stitched garden are so pretty and colorful. You are definitely being rewarded after a long, cold winter. I love your little corner of the pond on your quilt. It is looking so lovely. It has been a delight to see flowers and sunshine again!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks amazing! Sooo many colourful flowers!
ReplyDeleteLoved the tulip fields too! Looks like you had a fun photo shoot there!
Oh, that corner of your garden looks such a fantastic place to sit and stitch your beautiful quilt!
I really enjoyed my visit here.

Kim - I am looking forward to the day when my garden produces so many flowers that I can "afford" to take that many cuttings for inside the house! And your handwork is pristine - I CAN imagine how many hours this has taken … truly enjoyed all the beauty in this post. Thank you. (And it was not too many photos for me!)
ReplyDeleteWow Kim such beautiful flowers both real and stitched, lovely post my friend xx
